The current vice president of the United States, Kamala Harris, has officially become the candidate of the Democratic Party of the United States in the 2024 presidential race.
Harris is the first black woman and the first woman of Indian descent to officially run for the presidency of the United States and, accordingly, could become the first female president of the United States.
The politician received 99% of the votes from about 4,500 delegates of the Democratic Party. On August 6, 2024, she chose Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her vice president.
