Prince William went to Cape Town (South Africa) without his wife. She will be watching the Earthshot Awards on TV with her kids.
Princess Catherine of Wales, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment after completing her main course of chemotherapy, is doing well. Prince William said this during his trip to Cape Town (South Africa), where the fourth annual Earthshot Awards ceremony will be held on November 6, designed to highlight and scale the best solutions on the planet to solve the current environmental crisis, the BBC writes.
“She’s fine, thank you. And… I hope she’s watching tonight. So cheer me on. She’s been amazing all year. I know she really wants tonight to be a success,” said the future King of the Big Britain.

He said he and his family, like many others, are having conversations about trying to “do what they can” at home.
“Yeah, well, you know, every family tries to do what they can to help the environment. We go through all the basics of recycling and making sure we minimize water use and turn off the lights when we leave the house and so on and so forth.” making sure that’s what we’re doing for the environment. I think every family is having these conversations. You’re just trying to do what you can. The Earthshot Award is going to be a little bit more ambitious and big business to deal with some decisions,” added Prince William.
According to him, he instills conscious consumption and love for the environment in children.
“And tonight, I hope they’re watching and proud of what we’re trying to do here, which is to really activate that energy, that enthusiasm, to have a real impact,” he said.
He also talked about a bracelet with the word “Daddy” made for him by his daughter Princess Charlotte.
“Well, it’s a…relic, if you will, from a Taylor Swift concert that my daughter decided to make a bracelet for. She gave it to me when I was driving. So I promised I’d wear it and try not to lose it while I’m here.” , – admitted the king’s son.
On the evening of November 6, five winners from around the world will each receive £1 million as a prize to develop and scale their solutions to environmental and climate change challenges at a ceremony which will be broadcast live across Africa and then on BBC iPlayer. The award ceremony will be held in a reusable eco-friendly “superdome” with green carpets for guests, including host Billy Porter and models Heidi Klum and Winnie Garlow.
“I’ve been looking forward to the time when I can bring Earthshot to Africa. I love that continent. And I’ve spent years looking around and studying it.
“And just very excited to be received with the enthusiasm and energy that will be in this room today around Earthshot in South Africa,” the prince said.
Africa is one of the least polluting continents in the world, but at the same time it suffers the most from the adverse effects of climate change.
Award winners were selected from nearly 2,500 nominees from 75 countries.
Focus previously reported that Queen Camilla had come down with a serious lung infection and canceled a number of public appearances.
